7/6 - Christoph and Yodis

Today began the tour portion of our trip. We loaded up on a coach bus (flashbacks of college softball) and headed out to Limassol with our tour guide, Christoph and our driver, Yodis. We hit a great bakery for breakfast and then set out to see some archeological dig sites. The first was a huge villa with an amazing view and an arena dating back to the Roman times- gladiator style with lions. They still use it today for concerts. If I knew how to get in touch with the production company, I would have turned my resume in already. Next was an beautiful church, the boardwalk area in Pafos for lunch and a visit to the House of Dionysis; an amazing display of mosaics- each telling a different story or depicting a symbol. We also saw the pools of Aphrodite- legendary for having powers like the fountain of youth.

We stayed in Polis; a small fishing village about a half hour north of Pafos, had a good dinner and wandered around the small alley streets of the town centre.

Alright, you're in trouble now --your DAD is home. Let's see, forgetting your keys, trying to bribe foreign officials, and there is no way you're not coming back, so don't even think about concerts in any other place than California!!

Hope you are having fun...do I have stories to share.
